Ekin NurbaşOptimization & Algorithm Engineer
Eight years of experience solving real-world scheduling, routing and estimation problems. Combining large-scale optimization, statistical signal processing and practical software engineering.
About
I develop algorithms for complex operational and estimation problems across space, mobility and defense. My work connects a strong foundation in linear algebra, statistics, probability and optimization with hands-on development in Python, MATLAB and C++. I enjoy turning ideas into prototypes and production-ready applications, and mentoring engineers in optimization, signal processing and problem-solving.
Experience
Algorithm Engineer II
- Developed vehicle routing and courier assignment algorithms for last-mile delivery operations.
- Developed configurable, multi-objective courier assignment using multi-criteria decision-making, reducing late deliveries by up to 30% in some warehouses.
- Built a company-wide optimizer visualization service using Folium, FastAPI and Jinja2. Worked with VROOM and OSRM, and evaluated algorithms through profiling, benchmarking and complexity analysis.
Expert Algorithm Development Engineer
- Developed direction-of-arrival estimation and localization algorithms for HF direction finding and communications intelligence systems.
- Implemented real-time signal processing in MATLAB and C++, using Eigen and OpenMP for high-performance embedded implementations.
- Integrated INS/GPS data to improve geolocation, developed antenna array calibration algorithms and conducted field testing for Airborne COMINT and HFDF systems.
